2018, you were full of whimsy and adventure, and overflowing with love. And, I’m glad you’re over because I’m all celebrated out! I’m actually looking forward to the quiet days of winter…where staying home trumps going out.
Thinking back over the year, I can’t help but be overwhelmed by the joy that was present in each day. We were particularly blessed with a year that kept us shielded from pain and sorrow, and instead gifted us with abundant goodness. From our marriage, to success in Bobby’s work, to being witnesses to David and Siri’s love in both engagement and weddings, and celebrating the engagement of Bobby’s brother Devin and his fiance’ Jackie, being asked to be Godparents to the most precious twins, to the uninterrupted time with Bobby on our honeymoon.
And every year won’t be like this, because, well, life happens. And trials and hardships fall on everyone. You’d be a fool to think differently. I think that’s what makes you appreciate the days/years/seasons like this.
But until then, I will hold onto the goodness of 2018, and wait expectantly for all that 2019 brings our way. May it bring love, abundant joy, a growing faith, laughter, adventures, and travels! I pray the same for you and yours, too!
Cheers,
Amanda Funk
