I had the opportunity to attend a wedding with my friend, Christine, yesterday. I knew it would be different than the weddings back home, but I was really excited to see this celebration of love and life in a different culture.
The only way I can describe the festivities is to have you imagine a wedding you’ve been to, where everyone in the room has an opportunity to say a little something to the bride and groom. 7 hours of speeches. Christine and I showed up at 4 pm and got in our cars at 11 pm – and the speeches were still going strong.
Here’s a little photographic taste of what the evening looked like:
Traditional Uganda Drink – Bushera
Caught someone reading a newspaper during the 6th hour of the reception.
I am so grateful for the unexpected blessings here.
