Bad News Never Has Good Timing

For me, approaching 30, means worrying about what I’m going to wear on a first date, what to pack for my upcoming trips to Helen and Nashville, what to cook for dinner, or if I should buy tickets to that concert that I really want to go to but promised myself I wouldn’t because I’m on “live music rehab” . Tonight I got the call that changes that perspective. Tonight I got the call that has now forced one of my best friends to worry about whether or not her dad will be around when she has children. The call that causes you to reflect on those decisions you made when you chose going out with friends instead of spending the night at your parents house. The call that came in at 4:24 pm and lasted only 40 seconds. The call that made your life flash before your eyes, and your future seem lonely. At 30, I think we are too young to be dealing with that phone call. I will always think we are too young for that phone call…

There are lots of heavy hearts out there tonight…may they all find peace.
