5:04 am – wake up due to the call to prayer going off in the distance and the sounds of my neighbor sweeping outside
5:05ish am – drift back to sleep
6:42 am – wake up again
shower – a cold one
attempt to pull jeans on – an impossible task some days due to heat
fill up water filter
sit in front of the fan and drink coffee

throw away veggies that were bought yesterday b/c they have bugs
8:15 am – walk to boda stage at bottom of hill.
pass neighbors setting up their roadside shops.

air is filled with smells of dirt and fumes
Stop at a roadside stand to get a Rolex from Frank – the only type of fast food there is here. Tortilla with a fried egg. Cost .55
8:45ish to 11:45 am – Make it into the office.
Emails from the day before when our work day was ending and other parts of the world were just beginning.
Emails. Phone calls. Emails.
Take a phone call from my friend here, Laura.
Attempt to Stay Well Kept here. This is the dirt from my computer since its last Well Kept wipe down…a week ago!
11:45 am – Devotion and prayer time with the office.
12:00 pm – Since I threw out most of my food from the bug issue mentioned earlier, I am left to eat 2 apples and peanut butter for lunch.
Make plans to meet Laura for an early dinner.
1:00 – 4:30 pm – emails. spreadsheets. office projects.
skype chat with Jim. Laugh. A lot.
check in on the Kenya elections.
check off emails and to do list.
4:30 pm – text my boda driver Godfrey and ask him to meet me outside the office gates for a ride to Mish Mash for dinner.
4:35 pm – Godfrey isn’t there, so I start walking.
Walk down the street, and then down a hill to the boda stage
No boda drivers.
5:02 pm – get on boda and head to dinner
5:20ish pm – Meet Laura for dinner and unwind from the day.
After dinner and this day, we order dessert. Carrot cake with cream cheese icing.
The “cream cheese” icing is actually yogurt. Eat it anyways.
7:00 pm – Say our goodbyes and head home.
7:08 pm – Weaving in and out of traffic.
7:15ish – Godfrey drops me off across the street from my house. Cross at the zebra walk in true frogger style.
Pass my neighbors who are still manning their roadside shops.
Notice the cotton candy sunset and thank God for the day.
7:30 pm – Realize that I missed my skype date with Ashley!
Grab my internet usb to connect to the other side of the world.
She is not there and we reschedule.
